The Lorax

The Lorax (1971) by Dr. Seuss is a classic, cautionary ecological fable about a business-hungry Once-ler who destroys a vibrant forest of Truffula Trees to produce useless "Thneeds". The story follows the titular, mustachioed Lorax, who "speaks for the trees," as he protests the industrial destruction and environmental pollution that forces wildlife to leave.
